Training is just as important as the event itself. In fact, in many ways, it's more important. Aside from the obvious health benefits, I enjoy the positive feeling I get from training and reaching my goals — and my growing confidence in my ability to push myself. Exercise is important to me mentally, physically, and emotionally. I can't imagine a day without exercise — unless it's a scheduled day of rest! I'm always training for some athletic event; it's more than a hobby, it's who I am.
